I turned 40 this year, which feels significant. I love to laugh and am in a unique season in life. One of my favorite things is hearing your story and what you are learning in your life. I’m intrigued by how the small things in life are frequently used to teach us things or show us God’s character. Through my work I have the privilege of working with the best students, which is what drove my interest in working on my Master’s.
A handful of passions:
Freedom: for women and children from injustice, freedom from sex trafficking (today’s modern day form of slavery), poverty, and much more.
Latin America: Growing up overseas in Central America means I feel half Latin and speak Spanish fluently. Begin Latin also means you are loud. You’ve been warned. 🙂
Enneagram: I love the Enneagram. I am a 7 (Enthusiast) with a strong 8 (Challenger) wing on the Enneagram. Don’t know your Enneagram number? Try this quiz. The Enneagram has been the tipping point our marriage, making sense of a lot of things we didn’t understand and allowing room for grace to enter like never before.
For the last few years, I’ve worked at a university in the South, as an international student recruiter. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Instructional Design. Instructional Design is a leader in any industry looking to grow, reach a larger market, and communicate in a digital capacity. Interested in what it is? Check out my Digital Portfolio. Resume emailed upon request.
Prior to higher education, I worked in the fair trade industry for 15 years as a buyer, distributor and marketer. I believe all people have the right to a job with dignity to produce products and not be the product. My expertise helped as I consulted with artisan/producer groups who are looking to broaden their market in the US. Along that vein, I authored an eBook, Sustainability to assist those in the throes of looking to help artisan groups develop and import products to the US.
I strongly believe we can better change the world working together, than individually. Will you join me?
Have a question? Want to connect? I’d love to hear from you!
