On a seemingly calm Friday, it happened. The conversation that leaves you wondering if where you are is where you should be, and if who you think you are in Christ, is accurate.

That was me.

We all have “voices” in our head of those that tell us what we are not. We all have relationships that reflect and highlight the holes and tears in the fabric of our lives that reveal where we are not “up to par.”  Somehow, it is those lights that seem to shine glaringly like spotlights in our areas of weakness.

While it feels like a glaring light revealing to the world what you are not…what others see is actually a beacon of Light of who you are in Christ, sweet child. That is what shines.

When someone highlights our weak areas, trust that He is shining a brighter light, that reflects Him, through you; and that most people do not even see what we would call “glaring areas of weakness.” All they see is Him and His light reflecting through. I was reminded this weekend that is is not of the Lord that those relationships and voices be the TRUTH in our lives. Commentary from the peanut gallery…yes. But not Truth. Because the truth is-

YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made for a purpose.

That purpose is to prosper you, not to harm you, and to give you a HOPE and future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Whatever voice in your head that is yelling or whispering that you aren’t worthy, it is inaccurate. It isn’t true. You are valued for WHO you are in Christ and what He has made you to be, and not to be devalued for what we are not. Anyone that is devaluing you is simply a distraction from what He has called you to.

HE values you, more than riches or gold. The fundamental shift we must make is to see the value He sees in us and take those thoughts captive to Christ, so we are not distracted by voices that should not be turning us away from His focus. Because they are just voices, not truth.

After the conversation and over the course of the next few days, God has spoken through various people who have unknowingly affirmed me, in areas that I had felt so unworthy in that day. God has given them the words and insight to say things to my heart that were truth. His truth.

I am praying the verses below, that His word would be the voice in my head and the truth that I lean on. May I pray them for you?

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)

8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NIV)

20 Now may the God of peace…21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
