Hi, sweet Kristi! Okay, you must read *everything* by Sally Clarkson, LOL. And also, Hints on Child Training by Trumbull is one of my very favorites. Dr. Sears’ books are wonderful … The Pregnancy Book, The Baby Book (original titles, right?) .
I was about to suggestion “Creative Correction” until I realized it was in that stack already. Oh how I love that book!
There’s another one that I read nearly five years ago, but I remember it being such an encouragement to me! It is entitled “God’s Whisper in a Mother’s Chaos” by Keri Wyatt Kent. I think I need to reread it!
I’m reading “Have a New Kid by Friday” and finding it very eye-opening as to my own role in my kids’ bad attitudes and behaviors/reactions. I also love his emphasis on letting children make choices and live with the consequences, responding instead of reacting, and resisting the need to immediately jump into the situation when there is a problem. Dr. Leman doesn’t write just for Christians, but is a Christian psychologist and it is obvious that he bases his views and advice on Scripture.
