After much prayer and deliberation, I am taking a sabbatical from choir for a season.

It has been a difficult, emotional, discussion-with-the-Lord kind of decision.

I love worship.

Corporate worship, worship in my car, in the shower, as I work, as I make dinner.

I love worship.

One of the highlights of my week is Sunday mornings, up in the choir loft, worshipping with other believers who want to be there, who want to worship. Michael does amazing devotionals that the Lord uses every week.

So why the sabbatical?

Commitment.

I cannot attend practice as I should with my husband’s schedule this fall, both of us teaching on Wednesday nights, and kids that are still tiny and need to begin heading to bed at 7:30.

But, I love worship.

So, the last few weeks I have begun to think more intentionally about how I worship and where. I don’t have it all fleshed out, but I do know that this season isn’t forever and my life will need to have more intentional worship in it for me to remain connected to God. His Word and worship are lifelines in my relationship with Him.

So, until my family schedule changes a little, a sabbatical is needed. I’ve missed it and look forward to someone(s) taking my place.

Consider it. You WILL be blessed. Amazingly.
